Job Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing and delivering sales results within an assigned territory. The person in this role will identify sales opportunities within laboratory, research, and healthcare sectors to sell water purification systems and services. In this role, you will be responsible for direct sales of assigned products and services of Elga Labwater North America. You will prospect for new clients, conduct negotiations, employ strategic selling techniques, and build a strong sales pipeline.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Identify new opportunities, manage, and expand a designated sales territory
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales plans, deliver technical presentations, and close deals
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic sectors
  • Technical Consultation: Recommend appropriate water purification solutions and provide technical expertise on laboratory equipment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your customer base
  • Drive sales and revenue growth through distribution channels

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of laboratory water purification systems and technologies
  • Knowledge of life science, research, healthcare, and diagnostic market segments
  • Familiarity with scientific research environments and laboratory operations
  • Understanding of sales methodologies and business development strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM software
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage territory with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory (up to 50-75%)
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Effective Collaboration and Communication Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Chemical Engineering, or 3+ years of sales experience with water purification systems or within laboratory environments in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of experience in sales with scientific instruments, laboratory equipment, or water purification systems

Required:

  • 3+ years of sales experience selling water purification systems or within laboratory environments
  • Sales driven and sales focused
  • Results oriented with a proactive, opportunity-driven approach
  • Customer focused

Preferred:

  • Trade show experience (organizing or attending)
  • Experience with launching new products

  • Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $72,000 - $90,000 USD
