Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for an operations and maintenance contract at a Data Center Energy facility located in central Ohio and will be the primary interface with the project owner. Candidates should have at least ten years of experience and a mechanical background.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with the client, site staff, management, vendors, and outside agencies. Reports directly to the Regional General Manager.
- Demonstrate effective management skills in meeting or exceeding facility goals an objectives.
- Responsible for the enforcement of and compliance with the Operations and Maintenance Agreement.
- Responsible for the enforcement of and compliance with permits and all regulatory requirements.
- Responsible to generate annual budgets and ensure site operates within acceptable variances.
- Ensure compliance and enforce safety policies and procedures and serves as a role model in safe work practices
- Prepare and submit to the client, in a timely manner, all reports and information required under the terms of the O&M contract.
- Provide recommendations to management and the client on plant upgrades and enhancements that would improve the reliability, efficiency, performance, safety, or environmental readiness of the plant. The recommendations should include a cost benefit analysis.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of maintenance and outage activities. Provide outage reports to management and client summarizing significant events of the outage.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical experience in power generation.
- Demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement in a plant environment.
- A minimum of ten years mechanical experience in plant environment.
- Experience and strong skills in working with non-technical clients.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- A working knowledge of engineering principles and chemistry as it relates to plant operations as well as environmental and water treatment programs and statutory regulations.
- Develop and manage capital and operating budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, basic accounting principles and plant economics.
- Demonstrate the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel, and strong multi-tasking skills.
- Analyzes and interprets data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations.
- Ability to manage and motivate subordinates.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
