Veolia Water Technologies is seeking a Programming Logistics Intern to join our Chemical Logistics and Asset Management team for 2026. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge digital transformation projects that integrate data science, predictive analytics, and automation to optimize our chemical delivery operations across North America.

Tote Asset Recovery System: Tableau-based tracking solution that recovered $1.14M in field assets (300 totes) and established sustainable asset management processes

What Your Day Might Look Like:
Develop Predictive Analytics Solutions: Build and refine Python-based algorithms that analyze logistics data from SAP, Salesforce CRM, and our data warehouse to predict operational challenges and automate proactive interventions
Create Customer-Facing Applications: Design and deploy web/mobile applications using JavaScript and Google Cloud Platform that provide real-time visibility into delivery operations for our sales team and customers
Integrate Multi-Platform Data: Connect disparate data sources (ERP, CRM, ELD systems, production databases) to create unified dashboards and automated reporting systems using SQL and data visualization tools
Optimize Fleet Operations: Enhance route optimization algorithms, analyze tank capacity predictions, and develop tools that reduce freight costs, minimize environmental impact, and improve delivery reliability
Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for waste reduction, cost optimization, and process improvement through data analysis and creative problem-solving
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with logistics planners, sales teams, and IT professionals to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
Support Digital Transformation: Help transition analytical prototypes into enterprise-ready solutions that can scale across our North American operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop digital solutions to integrate data from multiple platforms (SAP, ERP, CRM, ELD systems, and production databases) and create models for operational optimization
- Data Integration: Create automated reporting systems connecting logistics and production data to support strategic decision-making
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for waste reduction, cost optimization, and process improvement for logistics operations
- Work closely with planning team to understand chemical processes and translate into optimization algorithms and predictive models
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure transition of analytical tools into enterprise solution
Qualifications
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students preferred
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) for data analysis, automation, and algorithm development; JavaScript experience for UI/application development is a plus
- SQL: Demonstrated ability to query, navigate, and manipulate data from relational databases and data warehouses
- Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with Tableau or Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and reports
- Google Cloud Platform: Experience with cloud functions, virtual machines, APIs , or low/no-code platforms like AppSheet
- SAP or ERP Systems: Any level of familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, particularly SAP modules
- Version Control: Experience with Git/GitHub for code management and collaboration
- API Integration: Understanding of RESTful APIs and data integration techniques
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Results-oriented mindset with focus on measurable business impact
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Prior internship or project experience in data analytics, software development

Additional Information
Compensation:
The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $21-24/hr.
