Job Description

The Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or
provides support for laboratory activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Manage inventory for required operating materials
• Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
• Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
• Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledgeable of laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts and analytical testing equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment.
• Basic skills in one or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography or chromatography.

Education & Experience
Required:

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field.
• 1+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Preferred:

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field.
• 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
