Proposal/Application
Working with the Sales Manager or as part of team supporting a Bid Manager, the Applications Engineer is accountable for managing a proposal opportunity from post qualification through contract award, collaborating on strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, and risk management. Responsibilities include:
- Review specifications and customer supplied documentation, providing comments, clarifications and exceptions as needed
- Circulate the specifications and customer supplied documentation to other functions (engineering, sourcing, quality, document control, etc.) for review and comment and consolidate their comments, clarifications and exceptions as needed
- Work with the Process Engineering Team to understand, support and finalize the design of various flowsheet processes to solve water treatment problems for our Customers ensuring alignment with the bid strategy
- Work with the Process Engineering Team to size and select equipment
- As needed work with the Sourcing Team or the Estimation Team to obtain equipment quotes and finalize costing
- Develop P&ID and any other drawings/documents needed to complete the proposal submission and engage any support teams required
- Development of required proposal sections and any other supporting documentation
- Develop a cost estimate
- Participate and attend all required meetings and reviews.
- When working as part of team with a Bid Manager:
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Bid Manager and alignment with the Bid Strategy
- Provide Cost estimate, Proposal/support documentation, Win the opportunity documentation, etc… requested by the Bid Manager
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, when working independently with a Sales Manager, the Application Engineer assumes the Bid Management role responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Advanced English
- Spanish is desirable
- Experience in water treatment segment
- Knowledge of water treatment process and technologies (MBR, osmosis, ultrafiltration, etc.)
- Engineering knowledge including diagrams and P&ID’s
- Previous experience in operating and preparing proposals/ process for water treatment.
