Job Description

Within the Technical Direction Team, you will develop technical documentation and mechanical designs for water treatment equipment by creating 2D/3D models, manufacturing drawings, calculations, and associated documentation, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project deadlines, and quality standards established by the company.

  • Design Creation: Develop 2D and 3D models of water treatment units and components using specialized software, ensuring design accuracy and quality.

  • 3D Modeling: Create 3D models using Windchill, PTC/Creo, and AutoCAD in collaboration with other engineering teams to integrate designs and resolve issues.

  • Mechanical Design and Drawing Creation: Develop detailed technical calculations and drawings for manufacturing and assembly, complying with current regulations and specifications according to project requirements.

  • New Product Development: Work on new product development, both individually and as a team, meeting agreed specifications and deadlines.

  • Drawing Review: Perform technical reviews of supplier and customer drawings, ensuring their compliance with established standards.

  • Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to the workshop during the manufacturing and assembly processes, resolving queries related to drawings and designs.

  • Creation of Support Materials: Develop technical documentation and support materials for other departments, including manuals and as-built documentation.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Generate drawings that comply with the requirements of current safety, health, and environmental legislation.

  • Reporting: Prepare reports as requested by the supervisor.

  • Technical Drawings: Generate detailed technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly.

  • Design Validation: Validate designs through basic reviews and simulations, ensuring their technical feasibility and manufacturability.

  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and manage revision control of drawings and models.

Qualifications

  • Educational background: Technical Training (Industrial Design, Mechanical Manufacturing Design or similar). A Degree in Industrial Engineering is a plus. 

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar position 

  • Language:  The candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish (is Mandatory)

  • Specific knowledge: Windchill, PTC/Creo, AutoCAD 3D. Autodesk.

  • Experience using the Windchill PDM package with Creo 3D modeling software. Demonstrated experience with a similar PDM package is a plus.

  • Experience with Creo 3D software. Demonstrated experience with similar 3D CAD software, such as Inventor or Solidworks, is a plus.

  • Good level of experience and proficiency in basic Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) design and interpretation is a plus.

  • Practical design and manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Experience in the water treatment industry is a plus.

  • Ability and experience working to tight deadlines and planning tasks, with good time management skills.

  • Basic design knowledge and experience with equipment and technologies commonly used in the water treatment industry (e.g., pumps, pipes, valves, and tanks) is a plus.

  • Ability to review the designs of others (peers, suppliers, and customers) and provide supportive feedback where appropriate is a plus.

  • Ability to proactively seek information and answers to move design work forward is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a team.
