Job Description
Job Summary:
This is a critical operational leadership position responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems within the desalination plant.
This role exists to:
- Oversee and coordinate all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize plant uptime and production capacity.
- Lead Maintenance team
- Safety and compliance
- Technical Problem solving - Diagnose complex equipment failure, implement solutions
- Document & Reporting
- Vendor, customer and Contract management
- Develop & manage maintenance budget
Essential Responsibilities / Expectations:
1. Team leadership & supervision: Supervise and direct the work of maintenance personnel, including operators, technicians, and contractors.
2. Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of equipment (Twin lobe Blowers, centrifugal, reciprocating, multi stage, positive metering pumps, compressors etc), maintain equipment breakdown history along with spares replacement records.
3. Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to equipment breakdown and emergency calls, Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues.
4. Safety & Compliance management: Safety briefings and toolbox talk with team, safety audits and inspections of maintenance work area. work permit, PPE, follow safety standards.
5. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HRSCC Racker Arm, Tube settler, MCF, auto stainer, Clarifiers, Pressure Ultra Filtration, Reverse Osmosis & NF Systems.
6. Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and supplies, Procure necessary materials and equipment for maintenance activities.Manage the spare procurement process, including PR, PO and GRN.Manage equipment warranties and service contracts with vendors,Optimize spare parts stock levels to balance availability and cost efficiency
7. Budget & Cost management: Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets, Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization, Prepare maintenance cost reports and variance analysis, Negotiate with vendors and contractors for competitive pricing, Minimize unplanned downtime to reduce production losses
8. Documents & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and equipment logs, Generate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports for management review, Document all maintenance activities, spare parts used, and labor hours,Prepare RCA , incident reports and corrective action plans, Maintain compliance documentation for regulatory audits
9. Vendor and Contract Management: Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and service providers for specialized maintenance, Evaluate vendor performance and quality of work, Manage service contracts and Ensure contractors follow company safety and quality standards.
10. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and efficiency.
- Implement best practices in maintenance management.
- Stay updated with latest technologies and industry trends in desalination plant operations.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce downtime and enhance reliability.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lean management programs.
11. Communication & Coordination: Maintain effective communication with the operations team, management, and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on maintenance status and equipment health to plant management, Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruptions, Escalate critical issues to senior management promptly, Participate in management meetings and provide technical input on operational decisions.
12. Emergency Response: Lead emergency response procedures during equipment failures or safety incidents, Ensure rapid mobilization of resources to address critical breakdowns, Coordinate with external emergency services if required, Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications
BE / BTech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
