Position Purpose:
A Workday Application Architect plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Workday solutions within an organization. The Workday Application Architect ensures that the organization maximizes its investment in Workday by aligning the system with business needs, optimizing its performance, and driving continuous improvement. This role is crucial for organizations to fully leverage Workday's capabilities and achieve their HR and business objectives efficiently.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and define the overall structure of the Workday HCM system to align with HR strategies and business goals.
- Ensure that the Workday HCM solution fits within the broader enterprise architecture and integrates seamlessly with other systems.
- Lead position in the implementation of Workday HCM modules such as Human Resources, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, and Talent Management.
- Configure the Workday system according to specific organizational requirements and best practices.
- Design and manage integrations of Workday HCM with other internal systems and especially SAP, PeopleSoft, Google BigQuery and other systems - and external third-party services.
- Ensure data flows smoothly and securely between Workday and other systems.
- Recommend with HR and Internal Control and implement security roles and permissions within Workday to ensure data integrity and compliance with local and international data protection regulations.
- Optimize the usage of Workday and the licensing model. Work and collaborate closely with Workday.
- Regularly review with HR and update security settings as per organizational changes and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the testing of Workday configurations and integrations to ensure they meet user requirements and function correctly.
- Manage the resolution of any issues identified during testing phases with the HR teams.
- Develop and deliver with HR training programs for end-users to ensure they are proficient in using Workday HCM features.
- Providing second-level support for issues that the HR helpdesk cannot resolve.
- Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations to ensure successful project completion.
- Monitor the performance of the Workday HCM system and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Implement updates and enhancements to improve system efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Manage the change process associated with new Workday HCM deployments or modifications.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and prepared for changes in the Workday system.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations and processes.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards to meet the analytical needs of HR and other departments.
- Collaborate with HR teams and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and how Workday can be optimized to support them.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and HR to ensure that both perspectives are addressed in the Workday configuration.
- Stay informed about new Workday features, updates, and best practices.
- Participate in Workday communities and attend conferences to keep skills and knowledge current.

Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Workday implementations or related HR/ERP systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of Workday's architecture, modules, and functionalities.
- Deep understanding of the Workday integration technologies and web services.
- Familiarity with reporting tools and data analytics.
- Knowledge of security models and data protection practices.
- Experience in leading and mentoring teams.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., data protection laws).
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Workday HCM Certifications
Physical Requirements:
- Flexible Hybrid Work Arrangement: In-office presence required for a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Occasional travel required, averaging once per month or less.
