General Manager
Sarpi Remediation Italia is part of Sarpi Remediation Europe. We have the ambition to further grow in Italy. For that reason we are looking for a General Manager who can manage a small team of 10 people and can develop the soil remediation activities in Italy.
1. General management
o You are responsible for the day-to-day general management of an entity consisting of almost 10 employees of which the operations manager and sales manager will be directly reporting to you.
o You design the local business strategy with the aim to gain sustainable and organic business growth.
o You manage the execution of the strategy by setting business plans.
o You pursue targeted goals and objectives and you know how to delegate them.
o You are responsible for the business reporting.
o Regarding RH, Finance, Health & Safety, legal etc, you can rely on the support of the (Shared) Services provided by Sarpi Waste Services Italia.
o You collaborate with your colleague General Managers in the other countries where we have remediation activities on common sales offers and projects.
o You will report to the Deputy General Manager Sarpi Remediation Europe.
2. Sales Management
o You have the end-responsibility of the company’s sales activities – the increase and diversification of our client portfolio.
o You define the sales strategy and the corresponding sales action plans by preparing a profound market analysis.
o You coach and guide the sales manager who is together with a small team of account managers responsible for the execution of the sales action plans.
o You manage the key accounts and the partners of our joint ventures.
o You co-manage the project calculations.
3. Business Development
o You actively search for new business opportunities: eg. starting-up of new (temporary) soil treatment platforms, active prospection for new customers, looking new ways of developing the business (new flows etc),
o You look for interesting acquisitions on the market and contribute to the business plan and negotiations.
4. Operations Management
o You are responsible for managing the execution of our activities and projects.
o You coach and guide the Operations Manager.
o You are the main point of contact for our clients in case of operational issues.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- You preferably have an educational background as Engineer (technical, commercial, construction, mining, etc).
- Experience in the remediation or (hazardous) waste business is a necessity.
- You are generalist: general management, sales, business development, operations, finance, HR, contract management, purchase, etc.

- You are charismatic leader who can gain trust and respect of team members, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- You have strongly developed people management skills; you know how to guide, coach and motivate a team into the direction of the company targets.
- You have a strong sense for business opportunities, and you like to build a strong network.
- You have strongly developed negotiation skills and you are a dynamic communicator.
- You have pragmatic approach in the way you look for solutions.
- You know how to manage a project-based organization.
- You have a positive mindset and like to be challenged.
- You are a self-starter and can work autonomous.
- You are very strong in organizing and setting priorities.
