The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring maintenance activities are conducted safely in line with Veolia policies and procedures effectively & efficiently to uphold operational KPI’s, whilst fostering a positive team culture for all staff employed by the company.
- Responsible for day to day management of maintenance, including preventative action and measurement with regard to company quality, safety and environmental standards;
- Reviewing, completing and amending work orders as required;
- Control the costs of repair and maintenance of the machinery plant and equipment under the control of the department;
- Maintain operational and breakdown OEE data in compliance with Veolia requirement;
- Keep senior management informed of operating conditions, trends and incidents arising from the operation of site;
- Ensure all employees and contractors on site comply with all Collation of daily data as required;
- Coordinating rosters and ensure that adequate training and support is provided to staff;
- Respond to Emergency and Security events after hours as they occur and directed by the Operations Manager;
- Prepare the budget for the department;
- Ensure correct data entry into the groups CMMS system;
- Other duties as required or directed to ensure the achievement of the position objective or other business objectives of Veolia.
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant/ diesel maintenance, Heavy & Light Equipment servicing and maintenance such as Bulldozer, Excavator, Articulated dump truck,. etc;
- At least 2 years leading a team in a mechanical maintenance environment;
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach and mentor direct reports;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance to company policies and procedures;
- Commitment to LEAN Management and the 5S principles;
- Effective Communication skills for all levels
- Drivers licence
