Job Description
The Field Service Engineer is a professional service provider in the water treatment industry (raw water, process water, waste water, etc). The goal is to provide services where needed normally in the assigned region, eventually out of the assigned region. Therefore it requires frequent travel. The following activities are a guideline:
- Performing operation and maintenance activities on an industrial water treatment plant, in the frame of a service contract or an operation and maintenance contract.
- Commission, de-commission, operate and maintain Veolia mobile water treatment units which are installed temporarily on a customer site (eg during shutdown or construction activities).
- Provide technical advice on operation and maintenance of customer water treatment plants.
- Identify, analyze and implement process or service related improvements
Job responsibilities:
- EHS compliance;
- Equipment Start up and Commissioning;
- Site Surveys and Audits;
- Management of Repairs / Maintenance / Warranty cases;
- Contact with Customers – written and spoken;
- Customer Service Reporting / Data processing;
- Minor piping and electrical assembly works, as might be required;
- Operation at BOO (Build Own Operate) or Mobile sites when required;
- Participation to construction projects : design reviews, site reviews, etc. ;
- Support for costing of proposals / contracts;
- First line trouble shooting ;
- Technical training;
- Contractor / subcontractor supervision if required;
- Participation in Piloting and Field trials when required;
- Perform call-out duty if and when required as prescribed by the BNL team call out schedules
- Participating in the local team meetings to share best practices;
- Focus on continuous improvement of processes, practices and contracts;
- Demonstrate safe attitude and operations in line with company EHS policy, Customer policy and local regulations. Example to others;
- Demonstrate compliance with company ethics policy.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical engineering background (Bachelor or Master)
- Following certifications are a plus: VCA Vol , BA4
Preferred skills:
- Service mentality, customer focus;
- Take ownership of a service project for a customer.
- Good communication and negotiations skills, diplomacy;
- Preferable 5 year of Water treatment expertise (eg, RO, UF MBR, EDR, Mixed Bed, etc.) and related equipment and technology;
- Dutch or French & English language: all written and spoken;
- Contract management skills, allowing to understand basic contractual obligations between Customer and Veolia;
- Computer literate including knowledge on programmable Logic Controller (PLC) base control systems;
- Valid driving license.
