Job Summary
Veolia has an opportunity for a Sales Representative for our Microbiology portfolio (endotoxin and bioburden). The person in this role will develop strong partnerships with our life science customers to expand our market
penetration for endotoxin and bioburden testing platforms, generate new sales opportunities, and
facilitate the success of our end users, traveling to regional client sites in the West region plus Puerto
Rico, Canada and Mexico. The West region includes California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah,
Idaho, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee,
Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota. The ideal candidate lives
within one driving hour of a major airport in the Western United States and is qualified to travel to
Canada and Mexico. You will present our industry-leading solutions, utilize your commercial expertise
to expand networks at regional conferences, and collaborate with our cross-functional teams to support
customer accounts and drive revenue growth and profitability. This is a rapidly growing region in the life
science space, and our commercial group is looking to add a team member who will achieve yearly sales
targets, grow the business through customer focus and develop professionally through internal and
external training opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct selling of Sievers endotoxin and bioburden detection technology solutions (instruments, consumables, and services) in the region.
- Meet or exceed revenue and bookings targets in assigned territory with the goal of growing the business year on year.
- Ability to demonstrate and present Sievers Eclipse and Soleil platforms at customer sites.
- Organize sales appointments using existing databases and/or cold calling and prospecting for new contacts (call lists, online research, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
- Manage and keep up to date all contacts, accounts, opportunities and sales information in Salesforce CRM.
- Understand and manage the sales funnel to meet short and long term sales objectives including prospecting, positioning and demonstrating the solutions, quoting and closing sales as won or lost, with reason for each outcome.
- Provide business with accurate forecasts and metrics monthly to assess performance.
- Develop positive relationships with clients.
- Attend company-sponsored trade shows within the territory and bring awareness to local or regional conferences that would help create sales opportunities in the territory
- Have a technical understanding of our competitors’ products and sales distribution
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with analytical instruments and microbiology assays within the GMP pharmaceutical or life sciences industries
- Strong interpersonal and customer focused skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs
- Valid driver’s license and passport required
- Overnight travel of 50%
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Life Sciences discipline
- Technical background with three years field sales and/or applications experience required in GMP pharmaceutical or life sciences industries
- Three years or more work experience in sales of analytical instrumentation
- Ability to travel to Canada and Mexico
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

- Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $80,000 - $105,000 USD
