Job Description

Position Purpose: 

The Sales Operations Manager will serve as the Business Process Owner for Salesforce and the business unit’s internal sales management processes, ensuring adherence to governance standards and optimal utilization of Salesforce across the business development and sales teams. This individual will audit sales pipeline health, drive KPI tracking and process improvements, and oversee commission and pay incentive data administration for Finance/HR. The role requires a blend of technical Salesforce expertise, operational oversight, and analytical skills to support revenue growth in the nexus of water and energy.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Salesforce Ownership & Administration:
    • Serve as the primary Salesforce administrator, with budget authority for tools/licenses.
    • Manage technical development/customization directly or through vendors.
    • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Governance & Utilization Oversight:
    • Develop and enforce Salesforce usage policies for business development and sales teams.
    • Provide training and support to ensure consistent adoption and best practices.
  • Pipeline Health Auditing:
    • Monitor and audit sales pipeline data for accuracy and completeness.
    • Identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • KPI Tracking & Process Improvement:
    • Define, track, and report on key sales metrics.
    • Collaborate with leadership to refine processes that improve efficiency and performance.
  • Commission & Incentive Administration:
    • Track commission and incentive data for Finance/HR.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales performance metrics.

Work Environment:

  • Spends most of time in an office environment.
  • Occasional visits to plant areas.
  • Possible Work Hazards: Must take care in moving or lifting office supplies. Infrequent exposure to plant hazards including noise, rotating equipment, chemicals, fumes and water hazards.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in sales operations or related role.
  • Experience in heavy industries or related sectors is a plus.
  • PowerBI experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and data reporting tools.
  • Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training: 

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit (80%).
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand (10%); walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $120000 to $135000 per year.
