Job Description
This position is located at a Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility.
Position Purpose:
The Operations Manager I - Hazardous role is responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of client services within a designated geographical area, focusing on environmental services and compliance. This role ensures health and safety, environmental compliance, and the effective delivery of a variety of services. The role also oversees the hiring and training of subordinates, supports annual goal setting, and maintains profit and loss ratios in alignment with regional objectives. The position plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence in hazardous waste management.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all aspects of client services within assigned geographical area.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Oversee subcontractor project completion to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Review and approve project estimates, proposals, and contracts for new and existing accounts.
- Implement and monitor required training courses and refresher programs for staff.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of all equipment to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Ensure contract compliance and provide guidance as needed.
- Maintain a professional image and provide solutions to client inquiries and issues.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required
- 4 to 6 years of hazardous waste experience required
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge in the following areas: DOT, EPA, TSCA, and OSHA.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of disposal site capabilities and limitations prior to shipping hazardous materials to ensure efficient disbursement and storage.
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to effectively present information
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to create & prepare reports as necessary
Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
- A valid Driver's License
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
