Job Summary
- Responsible for transporting chemicals to and from the warehouse to the production areas.
- Responsible for inventory control and warehouse organization and cleanliness. Clean and prepare returnable tote bins for use in the Chemical Blend operation. Organize bins by type and clean status.
- Perform minor tote repairs and routine bin maintenance. DOT testing of totes to ensure the integrity of the bins.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive instructions from the chemical operators, and pull the correct raw materials and deliver the requested quantities to the production areas.
- Using a forklift to clear the production areas of finished packaged goods and complete raw materials, and move them to a final storage location.
- Use of SAP scanner guns to electronically move material from the storage location to the production area and back into storage.
- Operate industrial fork truck to remove bins from tractor trailers, move and stack into inventory, move bins in and out of the cleaning bay.
- Unload bins containing liquids by connecting hoses to outlet connections.
- Use SAP to record bin numbers and change the status and locations of the bins in the system.
- Follow all guidelines and procedures in the Semi-Bulk Manual.
- Perform DOT pressure testing of certified bins.
- Perform minor tote repairs and routine bin maintenance.
- Perform general warehouse activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory, and weighing and checking materials.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
Required:
- Minimum of 6-month related batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment which includes experience with hazardous materials
Preferred:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment which includes experience with hazardous materials
- Ability to drive a fork truck and pass certification
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and numbers oriented
- Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and the Internet
- Team player, individual thinker
- Customer focused; positive attitude
- Minimum 1 year analytical testing experience
- Prior fork truck driving experience is desired
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Working knowledge of SAP
Working Conditions:
- Standing for 8-hour shifts.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Working with hazardous chemicals.
- Working near moving machines.
