Job Description (North American Procurement Category Management Intern)

This is a full-time,16 month internship/co-op, with an anticipated start date in May, 2026.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our Direct Mechanical Category Management team in the North American region. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global sourcing strategies, supplier management, and category management within a dynamic industrial environment.

Nature of work: 

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); 

  • Assist in gathering and organizing data to support regional and global sourcing strategies for Direct, Mechanical equipment

  • Help coordinate communication between regional and global category teams to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies.

  • Support the development and maintenance of cost databases and should-cost models for key products.

  • Assist in preparing materials for supplier negotiations and meetings.

  • Help track compliance with regional and global category strategies.

  • Contribute to the analysis of supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Assist in organizing and documenting technical meetings and product presentations with strategic suppliers.

  • Support the standardization efforts in product selection and sourcing processes.

  • Help in researching and compiling information on value engineering opportunities and new technologies in collaboration with strategic suppliers.

  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Education: 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with typical office IT tools (spreadsheets, presentation applications etc)

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Interest in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management.

This internship will provide valuable exposure to global sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and category management practices. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and gain insights into the Procurement Category Management discipline as well as the environmental services industry.
