Job purpose:

The Operations Manager is responsible for operating, optimizing and improving the water and wastewater assets at several customer sites. This will involve all aspects of the plant – process operations, maintenance and asset care, development projects, resource, risk, cost management and control and overall optimization. The Operations Manager is expected to drive operational excellence and ensure high reliability and efficiency of the (waste)water systems. The manager will be responsible for taking ownership
of day-to-day and medium-term activities on our Veolia WTS contract sites. The role will be based mainly in Belgium (Antwerp-region).

Job responsibilities:
The position of Operations Manager in the VWTS Service team offers the opportunity to work with all our customers and contracts in Belgium (Asset Care, BOO, BOT, expert guidance, etc. contracts).
As a Operations Manager, you’ll be in charge of
● Leadership:
o Proactive attitude and approach to maintaining and improving operations by working
with the customer to meet joint objectives.
o Leading by example delegating appropriately and developing team members to
maximize potential.
o Monitor employee and team performance, offering coaching, training and feedback for
improvement
o Upholding staff welfare
o Oversee staffing plans, recruitment and training

Operations:

o Ensure seamless and timely execution of company’s operations related to the Es
Services Activities
o Manage day-to-day operations, overseeing the operations team and department
o Develop, implement and Improve operational management systems, processes and best
practices
o Ensure organizational processes comply with legal regulations and standards
o Collaborate cross-departmentally to align operations with the organizational objectives
o Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with Customer, vendors and other
Veolia departments
o Enhance customer service quality and satisfaction
o Lead / manage incidents in conjunction with Territory Manager

o Recognition of risks to Veolia WTS contracts and operations
o Recognize opportunities for Veolia WTS at customer site through close collaboration
with the customers
o Actively participate in developing new opportunities or activities within ES Services
o Respond to emergencies
o Implement and monitor operational KPI’s in order to report operational efficiency and
quality standard and identify process improvements
o Maintain service operations to ensure sustainability
● HSE
o Promote actively and develop Veolia WTS EHS related values and policies
o Enforce compliancy to Veolia WTS polices and standards
o Visible leadership on HSE issues at all levels both at customer sites and within Veolia
WTS
o Co-ordinate and implementation of HSE systems
● Financial:
o Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate and cost effective way
o Examine financial data and use to improve profitability
o Manage budgets and forecasts

Required qualifications:
● Bachelor/ engineer in electro-mechanical or chemistry or equivalent
● Background in (waste) water treatment
● Certificate/training in Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety system
● Language : FR/ENG. NL optional
● 10 years’ experience
● knowledge of SAP.
